Early Chamber of Commerce Luncheon

By: Liz Gonzales
Updated: January 25, 2013
Mayor Magnrum lead off the speeches by saying "The future of early is excellent." The unemployment rate is lower than the state of Texas and the completion of highway 183 should help facilitate the flow of traffic.

Early Police Chief David Mercer, says their presence on school campuses is evident and they will continue to do everything in their power to maintain the highest level of security.

Meanwhile, Early ISD Superintendent Brett Koch says that it's important that we focus on regulation of state testing. Currently students are tested 45 days of the school year which he believes takes away from educating students. Koch also says that the search for the next head coach of early high school is still ongoing.

"It's a time consuming process. One that you certainly don't want to rush when you have a high volume of applicants who have applied. We want to make sure that we do our due diligence and find the right person for Early ISD," says Koch.

The superintendent tells KTAB they had over 100 people from all over the country apply. From California to Florida, only one will be named head coach in March.
