Two Killed, Multiple Injured in East Abilene Wreck

The Department of Public Safety trooper confirms two have died in a wreck at Highway 36 and Potosi Rd.  It happened around 8:30 p.m.  Two pickup trucks are involved.  One of the trucks was carrying six ACU students.  At least one of the students is among the two killed.  No word right now on what led to the crash.

Update: 11:43 p.m.:

The next of kin of the deceased have been notified. The driver of the red pickup truck is 27-year-old Jeffery Davis of Abilene. The passenger in the green pickup truck is ACU student, 20-year-old Lindsey Smith of New Braunfels, Texas.

The families of all of the injured students have not yet been notified so DPS is not releasing those names.
