An Abilene dollar store was robbed earlier this afternoon.

Police say a suspect was shoplifting items from the Dollar General at the corner of Butternut and South 13 street.

However, when the suspect tried to leave the store, he was confronted by the clerk who the suspect then shoved into the door, thus upgrading the offense to a robbery.

The clerk was not injured.
