Man Arrested for Use of Laser Pointer

An Abilene man was arrested for pointing a laser pointer.

18-year-old Corvin Ghant was taken into custody on the 700 block of north Jefferson.

According to the police report, Ghant pointed a laser pointer at an officer's chest.

When police talked to him, he said he did not know it was an officer he was pointing the lazer at; however, police say the officer was in a marked car, in uniform and was in a well-lit area of the road.

He was charged with use of a laser pointer, a $500 fine.
