Success on the basketball court is nothing new for the Eula Pirates. One reason for that is the work ethic at practice. At the same time there is one running them when you talk to the Pirates; playing with "no regrets."

So far this season, the Pirates have racked up 22 wins. At the same time only four teams have bested the Pirates. That's helped push them to a number three ranking in the Coaches Poll for Class A Div. II.

The Pirates point to hard work both in practice and in the weight room as a reason for the high rankings and wins. At the same time there is one theme that resonates with the team, playing the game with "no regrets" and leaving it all out on the floor.

"All we can do is work as hard as we can every day, and approach each practice and each game in the matter we're trying too. That is to continue to get better every time we step on the floor," said head coach Josh Fostel

That message appears to be sticking with coach Fostel's players.

"What our coach tells us, 'don't leave any regrets.' Do what you can, practice hard every day, and be everything you can. When you step off the court for the last time just don't have any regrets and love what you did," said Ricky Stark.

"We just need to make sure we come to practice ready to work hard every day. Just be sure we leave no doubts, and no regrets. Just that extra effort at practice or in the wight room. Just push ourselves to the next level," said Austin Bartlett.
