The Lady Eagles jumped a spot in the district standings Tuesday night after defeating Midland Lee in a thriller at Eagle Gym.

In a back and forth game, the Lady Eagles and Lady Rebels exchanged punches throughout the first half. Then in the third quarter they traded leads a total of four times.

At the end of the third quarter a jump shot by Katelyn Goodman gave the Lady Eagles a lead going into the fourth quarter.

Then late in the game Goodman was able to get to the free throw line, and tie the game at 47.

A short time later, Sham Hunter found Samantha Rodriguez in the corner for a jumper to give AHS a two point lead.

Moments later the Lady Rebels would answer with a three pointer by Cindy Benevides to give Midland Lee a one point advantage.

On the ensuing inbounds play Hunter was able to break out of the Midland Lee full-court press, and find Tiana Evans under the basket.

Evans would hit the shot with just a few ticks left on the clock, and time would run out for Midland Lee as the Lady Eagles pulled out the 53-52 victory.
