No Help For Woman whose Home was Destroyed After Police Standoff

After plenty of cleanup, things are a little back to normal, but not quite.
"It hurts for me to see my mom's house like this," said Myrtle McGee, who owns the home that was destroyed after a 10-hour standoff between SWAT team members and three fugitives.
A pair of wooden beams are all that's protecting her home from the high winds outside.
It's either that, or leaving it as it was just a week ago without a living room wall, windows and a few doors.
"For them to come in and tear up my home?" said McGee, "I didn't come here and ask them to do this to my home."
McGee claims she didn't know either of the men who were escaping from state troopers.
All she knows know is that she still hasn't gotten any money for repairs.
"So far they (personnel from the Mitchell Co. district attorney's office) told me I wasn't a victim, no one has tried to give me any help to come repair my home," she said.
Despite all the red tape, she's at least got a new fireplace to help keep her warm and a few donations.
Her mattress has been lifted up so she doesn't have to sleep on the floor, but even these fix-me-ups aren't enough.
"All my possessions, my chandelier everything is out there in rubbish," said the life-long Colorado City resident.
So McGee will keep fighting until she gets help.
"We'll just keep on, I'll be all right I'm a strong woman, I am going to hold my ground," she said.
In the meantime she'll continue to put whatever pieces she can back together.
KTAB reached out to the Mitchell Co.district attorney's office to see whether they had as McGee claims denied to refund her, however they declined to comment because they say the case is still ongoing.
Officers at the Mitchell Co. sheriff's dept. tell us that the woman and four men that were arrested after that standoff remain in jail.
