The Marketing Committee of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce is hosting a training session on "Social Media 101 for Business." ACU Director of Online Marketing, Scott Kilmer, will be the featured speaker at "Go SOCIAL 2013," Feb. 5 from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at the Hunter Welcome Center.

Kilmer will discuss the importance of implementing a social media strategy for business. Attendees will also learn how to create meaningful content on various social media platforms - the kind of content that leads to increased customer engagement. So, be sure to bring your laptop, iPad and/or iPhone for this hands-on session.

Presenter, Scott Kilmer, in his role oversees the university's efforts in web communication, social media, email marketing, online advertising and web analytics.

Scott established ACU's profiles on social media and continues to oversee these channels, setting their strategy and promoting engagement.  In March of 2011, ACU was cited as the #1 University on Facebook for total engagement.

"Social Media 101 for Business" is the first of six training session that will be offered in this series of social media training.

Attendees will experience hands-on training and will have an open forum to discuss topics and ask questions on various social media platforms. There will also be several chances for attendees to win an iPad.
