ACU, Rotary Club Hosts Dinner to Abolish Polio

Big Country residents are getting together Thursday evening with the goal of eradicating polio.

Hosted by Abilene Christian University and the Rotary Club, folks can bid at a silent auction with 100 goodies donated by local businesses.

A formal dinner will be served as part of the fundraiser to purchase vaccines for the three countries left in the world suffering from polio outbreaks.

The dinner will also feature guest speaker Robert Scott, chair of the International PolioPlus Committee.

At $50 per person to get in, the overall goal is reach the $50,000 mark.
