America Goes Wing Happy

By: Liz Gonzales
Updated: February 2, 2013
It's estimated that Americans will eat 1.23 billion buffalo wings. That means if the wings were laid end-to-end they would circle the earth more than twice.

Here in Abilene, Wing Stop has been preparing for weeks and they have freezers full of chicken wings. So far they have received hundreds of per-orders for wings tomorrow and they say it's all about staying organized.

"It's one of our biggest days of course and the idea is to be efficient in trying to do that. Where it takes about 12-17 minutes to serve, it's gonna take somewhere between 2-3 hours, " says Shagu Agahi, manager.

Last year's super bowl saw the largest television audience ever. About a third of those 111.3 million viewers were eating wings.
