Chris Kyle and another man believed to be a friend and neighbor were gunned down at a gun range by a third man.  The suspect, 25 year old Eddie Routh, was captured after a brief police chase.

A Dallas TV station is quoting a source saying Kyle and a friend (the other victim) invited Routh, who is also a veteran, to the gun range to help him deal with ongoing issues related to post-traumatic stress disorder. While there Routh is alleged to have turned on the men and shot them in the back. Investigators have yet to comment on that report, or say how it all may have unfolded.

Police say this all happened around 3:30PM Saturday.  The Sheriff says they did not get a call about the incident until around 6PM.

Kyle is the author of "American Sniper," served four combat tours in Iraq and was awarded two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
