It was a big weekend for many in Buffalo Gap as people from all across the Big Country filled up the small town for the 4th Annual Fire and Ice Feast.

The event has become a well known tradition in Buffalo Gap and it's all aimed at helping multiple volunteer fire departments within south Taylor County, including Buffalo Gap, Lawn, Tuscola and Moro.

It's not just your typical fundraiser. The Fire and Ice Feast raises just over $100,000 for all four volunteer fire departments so that they can purchase new equipment.

And while the event is limited to only 25 cooking teams, they all give their time and dedication to the event by providing their own food, so that they can help raise the most money as possible.

A large impact is made each year due to the limited funding these volunteer fire departments receive. Which is why each of these stations greatly rely on donations and fundraisers like the Fire and Ice Feast , to keep their services available for folks in Taylor County.

Organizers say that with the turnout and support continuing to increase each year, they can't wait to see what next year's event will have to offer.
