Updated: February 4, 2013
Friday morning at about 11:50, Officer Patrick Perez responded to a high school campus located in the 2800 block of North 6 Street to assist Officer Jason Aulerich. Officer Aulerich, the school's resource officer, had been informed by a coach about a suspicious male subject at the school's cafeteria. Officer Aulerich was able to contact the subject as the subject was walking away from the campus. Officer Aulerich's preliminary investigation revealed that the subject had two knives visible on his person. During a search of the subject's backpack, a pair of nunchucks were found. The subject was arrested for felony Places Weapons Prohibited.

Sunday afternoon at about 5:25, Officers Martin Walker and John Lopez responded to a disturbance call at a business in the 1600 block of Hwy 351. A loss prevention employee had notified APD dispatch that there were two female subjects detained for alleged theft and that they were not providing their identification. Officer Martin's investigation revealed that the loss prevention employee had observed both subjects acting suspiciously and monitoring associates and cameras. While observing the subjects, both were seen selecting merchandise items and placing them into a tote inside a shopping cart. Both subjects then passed all points of sale with the merchandise and were contacted as they exited the store without making payment for said items. Stolen property valued at approximately $1,339 was recovered. The investigation further revealed that one of the subjects was a juvenile. Both were placed in custody for the offense of misdemeanor Theft. The adult subject was taken to jail and the juvenile was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

Monday morning at about 1:20 a.m., Officer John Lopez contacted a motorist in the 1700 block of Lillius Street. During this traffic stop, two other passengers were also contacted. A records check on one of the female passengers revealed she had a parole arrest warrant. During a search of the vehicle contraband in the form of marijuana and a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine were located on the floor board nearest where this passenger had been sitting. During this investigation, another female passenger had provided a name and date of birth for which no record was found. This passenger told the officer she had lied about her identity fearing she had a warrant for her arrest. This passenger was arrested for misdemeanor Failure to Identify. The other passenger was arrested for her parole warrant and for felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.
