TxDOT Says New Speed Limit not to Blame for Deadly Wrecks

DPS is still out in full force after multiple deadly accidents last week.
They say they haven't been doing anything different, but will be patrolling heavily like always.
Also, while some of those accidents happened on highways with a higher speed limit, TxDOT says that the posted speed limit is the maximum limit, and that officers can pull a driver over for going an unsafe speed, even if it's under the limit.
They consider changing the speed based on conditions such as weather and heavy traffic.
