The Abilene  Christian High School Panthers won the TAPPS  state title last year.

The challenge this year for head coach Michael Bacon and his team is to repeat that championship run this year.

The Panthers return plenty of players from the 2012 state championship team, but no starters.

They are still one of the best in the state.

"We're a lot different than last year. Last year we had some size, and we had a couple 6'3" kids that were really good players. This year we're small, but our guards are really good. We can get our and run a little bit more and play a little faster because we're smaller. That's been part of that reloading, and adapting to a new team," said head coach Michael Bacon.

"We run and then we get the ball and we go. That's people's downfall becuase not much people do as much running as we do. So, we wear them down," said Harrison Hancock.

The Panthers are back at home Tuesday night. They host Kennedale Fellowship at 8. The girls game starts the night at 6:30.
