The Abilene High Eagles will return home from Amarillo victorious after taking down the Tascosa Rebels on Tuesday night.

The tip-off between the Eagles and Rebels was a little earlier, 5:30 pm., mostly because of the long bus ride to the panhandle.

A victory over Tascosa would no doubt make that ride back to Abilene a little easier on Tuesday night.

The Eagles found themselves up by three at one point in the game, but quickly lost that lead thanks to a three-pointer by Ja'Quan Smith. That would tie the score up.l

Abilene High would quickly respond with a three pointer of their own after Joseph Campos found Gabriel Chacon open for the jumper.

That would once again extend the Eagle lead to three points.

Nate Estrada would add three more to that with a jump shot from outside the arch a bit later. That's after an assit by Calin McGee.

Estrada would return the favor though. A short time later he found McGee open for a jumper. McGee promptly knocked down the three-pointer and helped the Eagles jump out to a seven point advantage.

The Eagles would continue pouring in the points from outside the arch on Tuesday night, and especially Estrada. Another three pointer from the guard would once again tack on three points to the AHS lead.

Abilene High would need all the points they could get on Tuesday night as they held on to win a thriller in Amarillo by the final score of 61-59.
