Tuesday night, BPD officer Noah Gray, Sgt. Jeff Baker and deputy James Elliott were dispatched to 201 Pembrook following a domestic altercation.

A woman reported that her boyfriend, Richard New, had taken a gun outside.

After returning home from a trip, the woman said she heard a gunshot.

Upon her return to her home, she said New began screaming at her.

Upon the arrival of the officers, the woman claimed New still had the weapon, a Ruger P89 9mm pistol, in his possession.

Officers tased New and had him in custody, where he was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

The weapon was later found in the back of a white Dodge pickup on the scene.

New was transported to the Stephens County Law Enforcement Center.
