There was an attempted burglary at an Abilene sandwich shop.

It happened shortly after midnight Tuesday at the Subway on South 1 and Sayles.

Witnesses spotted a suspect wearing a motorcycle helmet, jacket and gloves pry open and enter through an un-locked drive-thru window on the side of the building.

The suspect grabbed a cash register drawer and took off.

Unfortunately for him, that drawer was empty.

Employees say the drive-thru window hasn't been used in years.
