Possible Solution to Eastland Pipeline Controversey

By: BCHP News Staff
Updated: February 6, 2013
There's an offer on the table and a possible resolution in sight for the Lake Leon pipeline controversy in Eastland County.

Last night, the Eastland County Water Supply Board met to finalize an offer to Hanlon Gas Company to purchase the "right-of-way" for the 93-year-old pipeline.

It runs under Lake Leon, which is the sole source of drinking water for much of Eastland County.

If the offer is accepted, it would mean Hanlon would agree to go around the lake and create a new pipeline to pump natural gas through.

If not, the case will likely go to trial in March.
