The Abilene High girls basketball team's regular season is over and we are left with the playoff teams for the next 3 weeks.

The Abilene High Lady Eagles are one of the teams from the Big Country that is in the post season. When the season started, most didn't think they would make it to the playoffs, but new head coach Laura Lange changed the mentality of the program.

It's hard to argue with the results. Look where they are now.

Katelyn Goodman says, "We had to adjust to a different mindset and more of accountability for each other and the coaches. It's really fun to know that we can count on each other and go out there and have fun, but know that everybody is working hard."

Tiana Evans added. "Day 1 was pretty rough. In the off-season, we pushed really hard. We worked hard. We got to the season and that lightened up, a little bit, but we kept working hard. Now, after (getting into the) playoffs, we feel good about it, but we are still working hard."

The Lady Eagles first playoff game is in Odessa on Tuesday against El Paso Bel Air.
