The grandson of a woman found in a shallow grave behind her Corpus Christi, Texas home is now charged with murder and tampering with evidence.

David Christy, 27, was already being held in Nueces County Jail on charges of assaulting an officer, evading arrest and resisting arrest.

Police arrested Christy on Monday, February 4th, shortly after he fled the home where he lived with his 77-year-old grandmother, Johanna Christy.

According to court documents, Christy is accused of hitting his grandmother over the head with an object in her living room. The medical examiner determined her body was then cut up into 4 pieces using a chainsaw in her garage.

Parts of her body were then placed in a trash bag and dumped in a shallow grave in the backyard of the home on Bentwood Drive. It's believed her body was buried for several days before police came to the home.
