Local Chocolate Shop Prepping for Valentines Day

By: BCH News Staff
Updated: February 13, 2013
With Valentines Day just right around the corner, one popular Abilene chocolate business spent the day taking orders and finishing up last-minute preparations for the chocolate-filled day.

Candies by Vletas on North First street is one of the stops many local residents make for their Valentine on the special day.

Vletas has been getting ready for the busy week by taking special orders and planning ahead. Since Vletas chocolate is made with no added preservatives, many of their candies will be prepared right before or on Valentines day.

Due to the high demand and pre-orders made each year, the owner and employees at Vletas spend the entire evening before Valentines Day finalizing their orders and hand-dipping their chocolate-covered strawberries so that they are completely fresh for pick up.
