The Sweetwater Lady Mustangs are set to play for the Area championship on Friday night in Post.

The Lady Mustangs had to win a play-in game to get in the playoffs, and then they turned around and won the Bi-District title.

It's been a good run but they face their toughest challenge tomorrow night against 8th ranked Lubbock Cooper.

"We've been through good, hard teams and so it's nothing to go against Lubbock Cooper, it's just another name, and yes, they do have a good reputation of being good, but all we have to do is give our good and full potential." says Suede Shirley.

"We're not going to let a ranking tell us who we are playing, so, I mean, having that in the back of our head it shouldn't affect us." adds Elise Lawrence.

Head Coach Al Miller continued, "We talked about it a little bit today. It's kind of like going up against the playground bully, you just got to step in there and you have to hit them with everything you've got. That's the attitude we're taking."

The Lady Mustangs and the 8th ranked Lubbock Cooper girls meet in the 1st game of a doubleheader in Post. That game tips at 6.
