Updated: February 18, 2013
Surprise, Arizona - The Texas Rangers today announced that 11 players have agreed to terms on one-year contracts for the 2013 season. No further terms were disclosed.

The eight are pitchers Wilmer Font, Roman Mendez, Alexi Ogando, Joe Ortiz, Martin Perez, Tanner Scheppers, Matt West, and Coty Woods and infielders Leury Garcia, Mitch Moreland, and Jurickson Profar.

Font, Moreland, Ogando, Perez, Profar, and Scheppers each spent all or parts of the 2012 season with the Rangers. Woods was selected by Texas from Colorado in last December's Major League Rule 5 Draft. Garcia, Mendez, Ortiz, and West were all in the Rangers' minor league system a year ago and have no major league experience.

With the agreements, 36 of the 40 players on Texas' major league roster are under contract for 2013. The unsigned players are pitcher Josh Lindblom and outfielders Engel Beltre, Julio Borbon, and Craig Gentry.

Texas will play intersquad games on Tuesday and Wednesday at 12 noon MT at the team's Surprise, Arizona complex. The team opens Cactus League play on Friday against the Kansas City Royals at 1:05 p.m. MT at Surprise Stadium.
