McM's Rico Honored for Men's Tennis

GREENVILLE, S.C. - McMurry University's Casjen Rico (Grapevine, Texas/Grapevine H.S.) has been named as the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) "Player of the Week" for men's tennis, it was announced by the NCCAA national office.

Rico, a sophomore, had a perfect 4-0 week for the War Hawks. Versus the Nation's No. 30-ranked NCAA II team - Western New Mexico University - Rico played a hand in the War Hawks' only two wins in the match (as the team suffered its first defeat of 2013). Rico won at No. 5 singles in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4, and then teamed with Chris Breaux to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-3.

Earlier in the day, Rico also won at No. 4 singles and No. 1 doubles versus NAIA foe University of the Southwest.

On the year, Rico is a perfect 10-0 overall (5-0 singles; 5-0 doubles).
