Rescue the Animals and the SPCA are trying to find homes for three horses and four donkeys who were victims of abuse or neglect.

Callahan County Deputy Chief Adrian Huddleston rescued three neglected horses and one small donkey back on February 1.

Chief Huddleston contacted Rescue the Animals, SPCA to see if they could hold the animals until the court hearing 10 days later.

On February 11, the courts found that the animals had been treated cruelly and were awarded to Rescue the Animals, SPCA to be placed up for adoption.

Also in Coleman County, the Sheriff department's Jeremy Watson called about 3 stray "Jacks" who were also taken in by Rescue the animals and the SPCA.

All of these animals can be seen and adopted at the Abilene Animal Services Adoption Center at 925 South 25.

Horses are $75 to adopt and Donkeys are $50 to adopt, so bring your trailer to transport these lucky livestock back to your place.

Rescue the Animals, SPCA works with law enforcement agencies throughout the Big Country to investigate animal abuse and neglect.
