They enter tomorrow night's game with Garden City with 12 losses.
They are easily the youngest team in the Big Country with a team dominated by Freshmen and Sophomores.
Youth is not always good, but it's been a very positive thing for the Lady Pirates.
Freshman Destiny Carson said, "You just have to take the pressure as it is and work through that. You don't want to be intimidated. Intimidation makes it a whole lot worse. You just work through it."
Head coach William Corley added, "They've really stepped up and brought a lot of energy to our team and a lot of confidence to our team. I think our upper classmen have noticed that, too. This team has really played well together, as far as, unity and 1 focus."
Kami Swaner said, "We go out there, and we pick each other up. We encourage each other. We're never putting each other down. On our bench, we are always standing up. We are always cheering."
The Lady Pirates open the Class A Div. II Regional Tournament at ACU. They take on Garden City. The Lady Bearcats are ranked 13th in the state.
