Baird Falls to Highland

The Highland Lady Hornets are a step closer to a trip to Austin after defeating the Lady Bears on Friday night.
The Lady Hornets struck first with a jump shot by Sierra Allen. That gave Highland a quick two point advantage.
A short time later the Lady Bears were able to tie Highland on a basket in the post by Kaylee Voigts. Then Baird took a one point lead on a three-pointer by Hannah Owens.
That lead would be short lived thanks to a basket by Highland's Hannah Allen.
By the end of the first half Baird would take a 14 lead into the break and pick up a 55-37 win over Baird.
The Lady Hornets will match-up against Garden City in the Region Two championship at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Moody Coliseum.
