Highland Going to State for the First Time

The Highland Lady Hornets are on their way to the state semifinals for
the first time in school history after defeating Garden City at Moody
Coliseum.
Highland would jump out to an early advantage, but Garden city would quickly answer with a basket by Brylie Schaefer.
The Lady Hornets would quickly respond with a basket of their own. This time from Sierra Allen to give Highland a two point lead.
A short time later Allen would try the same move again, and with the same result. The lay-up would extend the Lady Hornet lead, and they would never give it up.
Highland is now on their way to Austin after picking up the 47-29 win over Garden City.
The Lady Hornets will take on Saltillo at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Austin. The winner of that game will take on either Whitharral or Leakey.
