Seminole's defense was strong in the 1st quarter and was able to hold the Bulldogs to just 12 points in the opening frame. Wylie was up to the challenge though. They only allowed 9 points by the Indians.
The 2nd quarter belonged to the Bulldogs by a wider margin. Head coach Russell Perkins' team out scored the Indians 17 to 12 and led 28-21 at the break.
The 3rd quarter is when Wylie took control. The Bulldogs dominated play and led by a 40-28 score, and they were well on their way to another victory.
Defensively, Wylie allowed just 11 2nd half points and went on to earn that 21 point victory.
Head coach Russell Perkins said, "Tonight was all about us defensively playing every possession as hard as we could. As long as we kept battling, things worked out good."
Deandre Key added, "We just had to work it inside out. Once we got our inside working, we kicked it out and hit big shots. That's what helped us out in the long run."
Perkins is looking forward to practicing again. He said, "It gets here in a hurry. We are excited about the chance to go back to the gym tomorrow and practice, and that's what we wanted to do."
Wylie continues the playoffs at the Regional Tournament on Friday night. They play Kennedale at 7.
