A mother was arrested in front of her two small children after police say she led them on a chase and dragged an officer.

Police said they were trying to take 27-year-old Brittani Bree Thomas into custody for an arrest warrant for theft by check.

Police said she refused to comply and they were forced to attempt to remove her from her car.

Instead of cooperating, police said she drove off and dragged a police officer 10 feet before he was thrown to the ground.

According to authorities, the officer was able to stand up, jump in his patrol car and chase after Thomas.

Police said her 3-year-old and 8-year-old children were in the backseat during the chase.

Dash cam video from the officer's patrol car shows Thomas driving as fast as 84 miles per hour through a residential area, authorities said.

Police terminated the chase because the children were in danger.

According to police, Thomas eventually lost control of her car and spun out.

Authorities said she walked away and was arrested by the officer she assaulted.

Thomas' children weren't wearing their seatbelts at the time, but no injuries were reported, police said.

Thomas faces multiple felonies, including endangering a welfare of a child, evading arrest and assault on a public servant, police said.
