There was a strange home invasion in South Abilene where two cremated family members were stolen. One of those family members' urns was shattered, but robbers took the ashes anyway.

Mary Massy was the victim of an assault when four people broke into her home earlier this week on Andy Street in South Abilene. "He hit me upside my head. I don't know exactly what they hit me with," says Massy.

Once inside the home the robbers took, not only her mothers jewelry, but also her mother. "It was a little greenish-silver urn. It's little bitty and has doves all over it, white doves," says Massy, describing her mothers' urn.

They also smashed her fathers urn and took the ashes, which were in a Ziploc bag inside the urn. She says the robbers broke several windows trying to get in and finally got in through the back windows. She also tells us that she has no idea why anyone would take her mother and father. The Police did take evidence and will test for DNA.
