The Abilene Christian High School Panthers are headed back to the state tournament for the 2nd year in a row.

The Panthers won the state championship last year, and they are looking to repeat this year.

In 2012, the Panthers were the new kids on the block looking to make a name.

This year, they are the team to knock off since they are the defending champions.

"If we just go into every game playing like we know how to play than I think that kind of takes off that target on our back because we know what we need to do to win and how we need to get there." says Harrison Hancock.

"We know that if we dont work hard during practice we wont get the chance to play in the State Tournament again. So we know everyday we work hard in practice helps our chance to play in the State Tournament." adds Juno Wong.

The defense of the state championship begins tomorrow night in Mansfield. The 3rd-ranked Panthers play #7 Waco Vanguard at 7:30.
