The Merkel Lady Badgers are down in Austin, and their semifinal game with Poth is coming up Friday morning.

The Lady Badgers are new to the state tournament, but Poth is not.

This is their 13th appearance, and they will be a challenge for Merkel.

Head coach Clay Barnett said, "I think the main thing is, we are just going to have to take care of the basketball.  We're going to have to be strong with it in order to get it inside, which will be our advantage over Poth. We've got to get it down the floor."

The Lady Badgers 1st appearance in the State Tournament starts on Friday at 10 against Poth. This is Poth's 13th appearance in Austin.
