Haskell is celebrating Texas Independence Day.

The celebration is scheduled from 10 o'clock Saturday morning until 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the square in downtown Haskell.

They will have food and games to celebrate the anniversary of the Texas Declaration of Independance from Mexico on March 2 of 1836.

People will be dressed as soldiers, gunfighters and other early settlers.

The Haskell Chamber of Commerce is organizing the event.

Abilene's Frontier Texas is scheduled to reopen Saturday after a big $1.9 million improvement program.
