Running for Rodney

By: Liz Gonzales
Updated: March 2, 2013
Abilene residents gathered bright and early this morning to remember a fallen officer.

"Rodney's Run was in remembrance of Rodney Holder, an Abilene Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty in April of 2010.

The run benefited the Rodney Holder Memorial Scholarship Fund which was started by his family members. They tell us today's run reminds them how special Holder was.

"It's just a great feeling. He was such an amazing person and it just feels so good that he touched so many people's lives," says Hilary Erfurt, daughter of Rodney Holder.

The scholarship fund benefits children of the Abilene Police and Fire Department, as well as the Taylor County Sheriff's Department.
