The new Frontier Texas has finally arrived.

"It's a great emotional experience, whole new theaters, new characters, new stories, new artifacts, it's just a beautiful new experience that's for our community, " says Jeff Salmon, Executive Director of Frontier Texas.

The exhibit begins by focusing on early history and includes new interactive touch screens.

But it's difficult not to notice the large murals hanging on the walls.

"We have whole series of new murals by H.C. Zachry that are just beautiful and dramatic, 10 feet tall each one of them," says Salmon.

Initially, Zachry was not sure if he was willing to undertake the project, but he soon realized the importance of the museum.

"I believe Abilene needs a unique venue that is not repeated anywhere else. And so when we have visitors here from Houston or Honolulu or wherever, we've got something to show them in Abilene that they can not see anywhere else in the world," says H.C. Zachry.

Each and every element that was put into the exhibit serves as a tool to educate us about where we came from.

"If we don't remember where we've come from, it's hard to have an identity of who we are and where to go in the future," says Rachel Smith, first time visitor.

From the murders of endless buffalo to our Comanche ancestors, the past teaches us about our tomorrow.

"We can learn so much from them and the things that we go through which are really trivial compared to the things they had," says Smith.

Perspective is an added bonus to the already treasured experience.
