It's a John Buchan novel turned Alfred Hitchcock film turned Broadway hit.

Abilene Community Theatre's latest play "The 39 Steps" strips down all the extravagant details of a big production by having only four actors play forty different characters.

"You'll see actors change on stage rather than behind stage," says director Ryan McBride. "It's very quick."

Character Richard Hannay finds himself in a spy-chase story when one encounter with a lady spirals to a series of crazy and hilarious events.

McBride joined cast members Shane Farley and Tasha Volirakis  KTAB 4u Monday to discuss the details. This week is the final rehearsal days before the grand opening Thursday.

Many of the actors are pushed to new limits as they experience whole new skills.

"For one thing I never had to do accents before," says Volirakis.

Other actors include Justin Howell and KTAB 4u host Matthew Torres.
