Stephens County Sheriff Billy Wade has issued a public statement about the incident at the golf course from last November. He made his statement to the editor of the Breckenridge American Newspaper.

This is after the council meeting last night that a city council man resigned and walked out of after repeated attempts to try and get the city to look into the police department in Breckenridge.

That councilman, Harvey Green, says the confrontation recorded on the dash camera of another police officer was a symptom of what is going on in the department. The video shows a scuffle between Jennifer Adams and Billy Wade, who was not on duty at the time of the incident.

Wade had won the election as Stephens County Sheriff in the November 6th election, but he was still employed as a Breckenridge police officer. Wade's statement reads, in part, "I am satisfied with the outcome of the investigation. The Breckenridge police department acted appropriately and professionally in providing the District Attorney's Office, the Texas Attorney General's office and the Texas Rangers with any and all information."

Wade also repeated his commitment to working with the police department to reduce crime. Wade has repeatedly declined a request for a statement from KTAB News.

At last nights city council meeting many citizens said the issue was not over.

what a joke any person that was not charged after they commited a felony would be very happy to not be charged. I'm sorry that we have this kind of garbage going on in our little community but until we get rid of the people running this sham it will stay the same. {by people I am including all people in authority in Breckenridge ie sheriff, chief of police, county commisioners and last but not least city manager and commisioners.] Thank you Mr. Green for resigning from the commision at least we know there is somebody that has some integrity

IF Billy Wade was a good fit for the Stephens County Sheriffs position he would prove it by resigning.
