"Big dips in the intersection. The car gets shaken and bouncing around," one driver describes.

Dips, bumps, pot holes, you name it and you most likely could find it.

Jon Howell says, "A lot of people avoid this intersection because it was so rough."

They were the concerns of many drivers and businesses near the intersection of South 7th Street and Leggett Drive.

After a few weeks of construction, that intersection has a whole new look and feel.

One driver says, "It's real good. That's a good job they did."

Another adds, "I love it. No slowing down!"

The owner of Record Guys, says the construction project has positively contributed to his business and clientele.

"Business sped back up and actually more. We're busier now than before they did and that's kind of what I was hoping for," says Howell.

But not all businesses are seeing the same economic impact just yet.

Kevin Hines says, "I'm hopeful it will."

Hines has been running Jewels of Time for twenty years and says people are creatures of habit. So he hopes the habit of avoiding South 7th and Leggett will be broken, so he can see an increase in business as well.

He says, "It's going to take a while to break that stigma that people who have lived in abilene long enough to know that it was a pretty unfit intersection for them to realize that it's actually the city has made a drastic improvement in the quality of the intersection."
