APD: Man Calls Police Complaining of People Banging on His Windows

Wednesday night at about 7:30 p.m., Officer William Allred responded to a disturbance call in the 3500 block of Santa Monica Drive. A concerned citizen had notified APD dispatch about a subject performing burnouts in the street and believed the male subject to be intoxicated. Officer Allred arrived on-scene and observed the involved pickup truck with a male subject in the driver's seat. Officer Allred then observed this subject throw the vehicle keys to this truck out the window when the subject saw him. Officer Allred contacted the subject and his preliminary investigation revealed that the subject had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person, that he displayed indicators of intoxication and that the subject was intoxicated. Officer Allred reported that the subject was uncooperative and refused to conduct standard field sobriety tests. The subject was arrested and a records check revealed that the subject had three previous convictions for DWI. The subject was arrested on an enhanced charge of felony DWI based on his previous convictions.
Wednesday night at about 9:40 p.m., Officers Kurt Thomas and William Allred responded to a disturbance call at a residence in the vicinity of 30 Lariat Trail. The resident had notified APD dispatch about several subjects on his property trespassing and that the subjects were banging on his windows. Officer Thomas arrived and contacted two male subjects and one female subject at the involved residence. His preliminary investigation revealed that one of the subjects, a male, had an outstanding municipal arrest warrant. The investigation also revealed that a window was broken during the disturbance by another subject: the female. The male subject was arrested on the warrant and searched. A small quantity of marijuana was located in his pocket. The male subject was also arrested for the offense of misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana. The female subject was cited and released
