Commissioners Discover New Jail is Over Budget by Thousands

The new Shackelford County jail is a little over budget.

Well, actually it's $100,000 over budget.

According to Albany News, the money will now come out of the county's fund balance to pay for the construction, unless county commissioners uncover errors or miscalculations.

It was revealed at the commissioners meeting Monday that the original statement with the cost of construction had been misread.
