What was once a home, is now a crime scene, as 25-year old Justin Vaughn was found shot to death in his front yard in Snyder.

Contrary to his neighbor's accusations of drugs and parties, Vaughn's lifelong friend, Tanner Spikes, says that couldn't be further from the truth.

"Anyone can say bad things about their neighbor, but that wasn't the kind of person he was. He was a really likeable guy with a big heart, and was really there for anybody that knew him", explains Spikes.

Spikes says Vaughn was a father of three, dedicated husband, and aspiring hip-hop artist.

"He was always a dream chaser, he always wanted to do music. He just loved music. He was always talking about music and the next big thing they were going to do", says Spikes.

Along with Vaughn's family, Spikes is grief-stricken and in shock from the news of his friend's death.

"I just couldn't believe that somebody had done that to him. It hits you pretty hard to know you lost somebody like that", Spikes tells us.

Spikes says he wants the memory of his friend to live on as a family man whose potential was cut short far too soon.
