The ACU Wildcats were able to manage a split in their doubleheader against Incarnate Word on Saturday.

Incarnate Word jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after Lucas Miller sent a shot down the left field line to drive home Geno Encina.

The Wildcats were able to answer by getting runners on the corners in the following inning. Then Seth Spivey drove home Kyle Giusti to get ACU on the board.

Unfortunately that would be the only run for the Wildcats in the first game as they fell to Incarnate Word by the score of 5-1.

The second game would prove to be the better of the two at the plate for ACU. Particularly in the third inning.

The Wildcats would get three runs to cross the plate with two outs in the third inning. From there they would hold on for a 3-2 victory.

They would also pick up a 2-1 lead in the series heading into Sunday's finale against the 24th ranked Incarnate Word Cardinals.
