The Bulldogs have struggled through their non-district schedule with just 6 wins in 17 games, but that was against some really good competition and withouth the members of the team that went to the state tournament in basketball.
Needless to say, the Bulldogs are glad to have those guys back on the diamond.
"It's something we have to deal with every year," said head coach Clay Martin. "Baseketball has been very successful and it's something we're used to. It allows some guys opportunities that they may not have had earlier in the year. We spend all that time trying to prepare for this time when we get our full team together."
"Those guys are really going to help us. I think they're going to make the team stronger. The team unity will be a lot stronger," said Jake Linn.
"Anytime you're successful in any sport, I think that breathes success as you go onto the next one. Obviously we're getting some guys from basketball that will step in and contribute, and they'll have to right away," said Martin.
The Bulldogs open District 4-3A play on Tuesday at home. They host the Monahans Loboes at Bulldog Field at 4:30.
