Customer Loses Thousands in Body Shop Scam

Several people have fallen victim to fraud after an Abilene body shop owner took their money, then apparently bolted without finishing the work.

One victim says he paid for more than $10,000 of work at Havy's Body shop at North 11 and Pine a few months ago, and when he went to get his vehicle the owner of the shop had taken his money and run away.

We spoke with one of the other businesses that shares that building and they tell us they found out Javy Flores had packed up his tools and left by the time they came back from spring break, even taking his signs down from the front.
