Spring football continues for the ACU Wildcats this week as they get ready for the transition from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I.

The move up means that the school will not be eligible for any championships or NCAA playoff appearances for 4 years. For some coaches and teams, that fact would be a real negative.

ACU head coach Ken Collums says his guys love football, so it shouldn't be a problem.

"Our guys are passionate about football.  They love ACU. They love what we do on and off the field here, and the bottom line is, it's more than about playoffs. It's about developing people and going out and playing football the way your supposed to. I think we are in a really good situation. Yes, there are challenges, and not going to the playoffs is one of them, but that's simply a challenge ahead of us. I think we'll be fine."

The Wildcats finish up Spring football on April 16th, and the 1st game in Division 1 is August 31st in Abilene against Concordia College from Alabama.
