Windy and warm is going to be the main story today. Temperatures will make their way into the 80's as we head through the afternoon and cloud cover will be off and on. Also, winds will be howling out of the south blowing at up to 30 mph all day long.

Tonight a cold front will pass through the area which will bring shower chances to the Eastern-most counties, closer to the metroplex. Here in Abilene we should remain dry, just cloudy with temperatures falling to the 50 degree mark.

Tomorrow will be about 10-15 degrees cooler staying partly to mostly cloudy only peaking around 70 degrees.

A bit warmer for Saturday, in the mid 70's, but very gusty as another cold front passes through in the afternoon and brings another slight chance for showers.

Behind the cold front we clear out and temperatures plummet near the freezing mark overnight Saturday into Sunday.

Sunday we will be mostly sunny, but only get to the mid 50's.

More of the same for Monday and slowly warming back up as we head into the middle of next week.

The Storm Prediction Center has The Big Country in an area with a risk for a "non-severe" thunderstorms tonight. As far as numbers go, I'm going with a 30% chance across the area for showers/t'storms. Remember, some of these could pulse up and reach severe levels, with the greatest concerns being large hail and damaging winds. Tomorrow, we'll have a 20% chance for showers/t'storms, once again.
KTAB PM Forecast: Monday, May 13, 2013

It'll be breezy and sunny tomorrow, but we'll have some isolated showers and thunderstorms developing late tomorrow afternoon and overnight into Wednesday.  I'm forecasting a 30% chance for precipitation, but not expecting a widespread soaking rain event (unfortunately).  Highs tomorrow will be around 85, with southerly winds 10-15mph, gusting to 25mph at times.  We'll hold on to a 30% chance for precipitation on Wednesday and 20% for Thursday night. Temperatures will begin to climb, and we'll hit the 90-degree mark by Thursday or Friday.
