It's official, beer is bound for Taylor County Expo Center. "One of the most important parts of Abilene is the Expo Center. The Taylor County Expo Center creates over 30 million dollars in impact into the community each year," Nanci Liles of the Chamber of Commerce.

Beer sales are expected to bring in more money, continuing to help out the Abilene economy.

Most residents are looking forward to the Expo Center selling beer for certain events.

"It'll probably attract more people to come and see thing. It will make more money. So, I think it'll be a good idea," Tobias Calvin says.

However, some are concerned that selling beer at events might start trouble.

"Alcohol is not a bad thing to have there. But, people don't know how to be responsible sometimes. So, I think it's definitely going to cause them some problems, Selena Ochoa shares.

The Expo Center has a 60 day waiting period to receive their beer-selling license. But beer sales should begin mid-January.
