The typical profile of the American hunter is changing. Over the past five years the fastest growing group participating in the sport of hunting is women.  A recent survey showed women participating in hunting has increased over the past five years by 75%; that means over three million women regularly participate in hunting.

Here in Texas, many women, when they were young, tagged along with their dads and granddads, and now, they want to recapture those good memories. Most of these ladies seem to really enjoy the family time around a campfire with their husbands and children, away from computers and television.

Many times women are not taken seriously when they first mention to their husbands or boyfriends that they are interested in hunting. These same men are surprised to discover, however, that women have some unique insights out in the field.

If you are curious about taking up the sport of hunting, there are several websites dedicated to women who hunt, and these sites have some helpful information.
